Maristella Botticini earned her Laurea degree in Economics from Bocconi University in 1990 and her PhD in Economics from Northwestern University in 1997.
She started her career in 1997 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics of Boston University, where she was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 2004.
From 2006 to 2009 she has been Fellow of the Collegio Carlo Alberto in Moncalieri and Professor of Economics at the University of Torino.
Since 2009 she is Professor of Economics at Bocconi University.
She is the recipient of a CAREER grant from the National Science Foundation (2000-2004) and an Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship (2002-2004).
In 2000 she was nominated among the 50 best teachers at Boston University.
