Biographical note

Charlie Williams is Associate Professor of Management and Technology at Bocconi University and Director of Bocconi’s Bachelors in International Economics and Management. His research and teaching interests center around strategy implementation, corporate strategy, and organizational structure in companies. His research focuses on how people, structure, and experience affect the evolution of firms, with studies that examine how firms adapt their knowledge while expanding abroad, how entrepreneurial firms face the challenges of growth, and how market frictions shape the rewards to different business positions. His research has been published in Management Science and Strategic Management Journal, and he has served on the editorial boards of Strategic Management Journal and Organization Science. He teaches strategy and entrepreneurship at Bocconi and previously taught at University of Illinois and Duke University. Before earning his PhD at the University of Michigan he worked in journalism and technology consulting.
